Privacy Policy
Ate is a parent-operated lunch planning app for iPhone. This policy describes the information Ate collects and how it is used. Ate is not a child-facing Kids Category app.
Information on your iPhone
Children’s names, photos you choose, lunch history, preferences, and notes are stored locally on your device by default. Sign-in tokens are kept in the iPhone Keychain.
Account
If you sign in with Apple or Google, Ate stores an account identifier and email with Supabase Auth so we can provide your trial, subscription access, and cloud features.
Cloud features
When you use cloud features with an active trial or subscription:
- Backup: You may explicitly save names, preferences, lunch history, and notes to Ate’s private Supabase storage. Original photos are not included in backup.
- Meal suggestions: Ate sends food IDs, exclusions, and summarized check-ins to Google Gemini through Ate’s server. Names, photos, and note text are not included in planning requests.
- Photo avatars: Only with your permission, a selected photo may be sent to OpenAI to generate an avatar. Ate’s server processes it in memory and does not keep the original. Generated avatars may be stored privately in Supabase.
- Inspo: If you post, your public display name, description, items, and selected photos are shared with signed-in Ate parents and checked for inappropriate content.
Purchases
Subscriptions and optional image credits are processed by Apple. Ate verifies purchase status with Apple to unlock paid features. Apple’s privacy terms also apply.
Your choices
- Use Ate locally without signing in
- Decline photo avatar generation
- Save, restore, or delete cloud backup from Settings
- Delete your Ate account from Account settings
- Delete your own Inspo posts, including after trial or subscription expiry
